Programmed is currently seeking reliable and hardworking individuals for short-term placements in our Grounds Maintenance team based in Canberra. These roles are part of a vital project preparing landscapes and green spaces ahead of the upcoming bushfire season.

No formal training or prior experience is required – we provide full on-the-job training. If you’re fit, dependable, and enjoy working outdoors, this is a great opportunity to contribute to meaningful, high-impact work.

About the Role:

This is a physically demanding outdoor role, ideal for those who are keen to work with their hands and make a difference in the community. You’ll be working with a team responsible for maintaining bushland, parks, and green spaces to reduce fire hazards.Key duties include:

  • Brush cutting and line trimming (5–7 hours per day)
  • General grounds and vegetation management
  • Assisting in fire mitigation works across key areas in Canberra
  • Working outdoors in various weather conditions – including Canberra’s hot summer temperatures

What We’re Looking For

  • Physically fit and capable of hard manual work
  • Able to work safely in high-heat and outdoor conditions
  • A positive, reliable, and team-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to learn on the job
  • Driver’s licence
